The Gathering — In Memory

For five days in May, a small circle took the whole of the Poseidonion for itself — on an island the modern world cannot quite reach, car-free and pine-scented, reached only by sea.

There were no panels, no badges, no breakout rooms. We sat with the questions that matter: what it means to remain whole in a world that rewards fragmentation, to stay in relationship when isolation is easier, to feel what is happening — in ourselves, in our bodies, on our planet — and not turn away. Dr Gabor Maté held two days of teaching and remained present throughout; a circle of guides held the rest. The intellectual interwove with the felt, and the group itself became the resource.

And then it was over, as these things are. Something had begun.

To everyone who came, who held, who let themselves be held — thank you. The circle on Spetses was beyond what we dared hope for.

Voices of Gratitude

What the circle carried home.

A selection of reflections shared by those who gathered — Spetses, May 2026.

What touched me was the kindness in the vulnerability of the people gathered for this event. I met some very lovely, extraordinary people, many of them healers. Maté was amazing — he made the event what it was. Watching how he helped people realize the difference between their thoughts and feelings was a master class.
What impressed me most were the clear intentions, agreements, and boundaries communicated from the very beginning. They created a strong sense of safety and trust. It felt as if a team of superheroes had gathered from all over the world. I've been reminded that I am worthy of love, just as I am.
The five days were truly inspiring and eye-opening. I felt deeply grateful to be among people from all over the world who had come together with a common intention: resilience. The facilitators were warm, generous, and deeply supportive. I made new friends and felt part of a genuine community.
Gabor's interaction with me personally in front of the entire group was a profound experience. I felt entirely shifted. I am thankful to all of you for your intention to support and help people grow and heal without judgement. The island was perfection.
I especially loved the opening meditation and the introduction to the family constellation framework — it created a powerful foundation for the retreat. I felt supported and safe throughout the entire week. I don't always feel this way in a large group; the facilitators nailed this.
The most impactful single moment was the releasing of rage at the amphitheatre. It was truly primal and powerful, and I am grateful to have been part of it. The feeling of our shared humanity and deep belief in the good in this world — it's powerful to experience that in person. A truly remarkable event in my life. I would even say life-changing.
I will carry home their gentle, truthful, authentic presence. The Women's Rage Meditation in the amphitheatre was painful poetry in a beautiful way — the pain so palpable, the release cathartic. I am very grateful for this experience.
The wonderful connections I made. The team was very special, each of them weaving their own kind of magic. The singing was beautiful, the 5 Rhythms fantastic. Love Spetses — it's magical.
The general gathering of souls, all with positive intentions for the space and the world. This felt truly uplifting. I carry with me the practice of putting attention on the tension in the body, and seeing self, community, and nature as concentric circles.
I carried home so much — most importantly, how to deepen my own work in trauma-sensitive coaching. I learned a great deal and again deepened the relationship to myself.
I'm so happy to have been part of this nourishing retreat. Thank you for holding the space, for understanding the importance of resilience, and for gathering such an incredible team of facilitators and hosts. I enjoyed every minute of it. May we stay connected.
