Important Information About Travel Insurance

One Sanctum is honored to present Resilience in a Stressed World, Dr. Gabor Maté’s only scheduled multi-day retreat in 2025. This unique gathering will be an intimate experience, limited to approximately 50 rooms at the stunning Poseidonion Grand Hotel on the beautiful island of Spetses, Greece.

Bringing this retreat to life has been a labor of love for the One Sanctum team, offering a rare opportunity to deeply engage with Dr. Maté—one of the world’s most respected healers—alongside other inspiring speakers and facilitators. While Dr. Maté is in excellent health, insurance market restrictions related to his age, unfortunately, prevent us from securing event insurance to cover the highly unlikely event of cancellation.

To protect your investment, we strongly encourage all attendees to purchase travel insurance, specifically “Cancel For Any Reason” (CFAR) coverage. This type of insurance provides the most comprehensive protection, allowing you to recover up to 75%—and in some cases, even 100%—of your investment for any reason. CFAR insurance is a standard offering through most travel insurance providers and must typically be purchased within 21 days of booking your retreat and travel.

One Sanctum is committed to ensuring you are as protected as possible, and in the unlikely event that we must cancel the retreat due to Dr. Maté’s inability to attend, we will refund up to 25% of your ticket cost after you have successfully claimed from your insurance, covering the gap created by the 75% typical CFAR coverage and ensure you’re fully covered. Please note that travel expenses will not be covered by One Sanctum.

This approach ensures that both you as our guests and us as the team are aligned in a synergistic way in taking proactive measures to avoid financial losses in the very unlikely event that something unforeseen happens.
